The Positives Of Raw Food
Raw food has come to the forefront of diets and good health in recent years – even though this way of eating has been going on for many decades. Its popularity has been enhanced with celebrities and the many health issues that people seem to be having these days.
This awareness of good health and what that means (and feels like!) has influenced the direction of the raw food diet. It has become easier to eat this way, due to the convenience foods being made commercially by raw foodies. As well as organic produce, you are able to find raw food products e.g. crackers, dips etc in health food stores and markets, thereby eliminating the need to have a dehydrator and all the appliances if you are time poor.
Starting on the raw food path can be a big change, but the positive effects it can have, may outweigh any apprehension. Here are a few for you to consider –
• More energy
• Better digestion
• Clear skin
• Clear eyes
• Weight loss
• Clearer thinking
• Mood improvement
• Boosting immune system
• Balancing the acid/alkaline in the body
• Improved sense of taste and smell.
• Positive outlook
Starting small when making changes can better assist you in sticking to it or not. Try adding more fresh produce to your diet i.e. having a smoothie for breakfast, adding leafy greens to your lunch or dinner, having half raw vegies with the cooked vegies or adding sprouts to your meals. There is so much information on the internet for transitioning to raw food and recipes, that it makes it easy.
A raw food diet may not be for everyone and there is so much varied debate on whether it is good or not. Surely incorporating fresh food into your diet more often, has to be of benefit? Nutrient dense food that keeps you going for longer throughout the day and makes you feel better. Isn’t that what we are all striving for?
